Real Vault Opens Expanded High-Security Vault in Warsaw-Wawer

After eight months of construction, our Międzyosiedlowa facility now offers sixty percent more segregated storage, a dedicated intake and weighing room, two separate armoured loading bays and dual-biometric access to the vault floor.

The expansion of our Warsaw-Wawer facility is complete and fully operational. Work began in January 2026 and was carried out in phases so that existing holdings were never moved and client access was never interrupted. The new wing adds roughly sixty percent to our segregated storage capacity and brings the whole site up to a single, uniform security specification.

The most visible change for clients is the new intake and weighing room. Every deposit now arrives through a dedicated door into a room fitted with calibrated precision scales, ultrasonic testing equipment, high-resolution photography and a document station. Metal is weighed, photographed, checked against its refinery certificate and logged bar-by-bar before it moves one step further into the building. The record — including the name of the depositor and the receiving officer — appears in the client's portal within minutes.

Behind the intake room, the vault floor is now reached only through dual biometric authentication, with all movements performed by two officers and every handover signed by both. Inbound and outbound consignments use two separate armoured loading bays so that an arriving shipment and a departing one are never in the same space at the same time. The armed security team monitors the site around the clock, and CCTV is retained under our records policy and available to our insurers and auditors.

For institutional clients the expansion adds segregated caged positions that can be assigned to a single client or fund, with independent access logs. This makes it straightforward to demonstrate to an auditor or a regulator that specific bars belong to a specific entity and have never been commingled. Named-interest insurance certificates are available for these positions on request.

The project was designed with our insurers from the outset, and the renewal of our full-value specie cover for 2026/27 — with increased limits — was placed on the basis of the completed works. Nothing changes for existing clients: holdings remain in their allocated positions, fees are unchanged, and the insurance confirmation letter in your portal has been updated to reflect the new period.

Capacity was the reason for the expansion. Demand for allocated storage in the European Union has grown sharply over the past two years as private holders and treasuries look for custody outside the banking system and outside jurisdictions they consider exposed. Poland's combination of EU membership, a stable legal framework and a location on the main Warsaw–Frankfurt–Zürich corridor has made Warsaw an attractive point in that network, and we intend to keep space available for new clients through 2027.

Existing clients do not need to do anything. New clients can request an onboarding appointment through the contact page or by phone; identity verification can be completed in person at the facility or by video for clients abroad. We look forward to showing you the new site.
